North Korea threatens the United States

North Korea has basically declared war on the United States. North Korea has nuclear warheads and missile capability. Is this a real threat? What is the real reason behind this? If North Korea were to send missiles to the United States it would not do as much damage as if a single American missile were to land in North Korea. So why is this happening?

The truth of the matter is that if the United States was not considered a weak and ineffectual nation, brought to its knees from within by its own president, no one would dare to mess with it. I am sure that in the face of this threat the new Defense Minister will cut military spending. Maybe he should cut all defense mechanisms? Like the Patriot missile?
